  2. How do I join JetStream Virtual? You can join by visiting our registration page and completing the sign-up process. Once registered, you'll receive further instructions via email.

Technical Questions

  1. What simulators are supported? JetStream Virtual supports Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS), X-Plane, Prepar3D, and FSX.

  2. How do I download the necessary software? Visit our downloads page to obtain the latest version of PHPVMS ACARS compatible with your operating system. Follow the instructions provided to download and install the software.

  3. What is the .NET 6.0 Runtime, and do I need it? The .NET 6.0 Runtime is required for ACARS to function. If you don't have it installed, ACARS will prompt you to download it. You can also download it in advance from the Microsoft Download Page, selecting the x64 version for Desktop apps.

Configuration Questions

  1. How do I configure PHPVMS ACARS?

    • URL Configuration: Launch PHPVMS ACARS and enter http://jetstreamvirtual.com in the URL field.
    • API Key Entry: Retrieve your personal API key from your user profile on the JetStream Virtual site and enter it into PHPVMS ACARS.
  2. How do I configure my simulator with ACARS?

    • FSX/Prepar3d: Install FSUIPC and MakeRwys. Run MakeRwys whenever there are scenery changes.
    • X-Plane: Copy the AcarsConnect folder into the Resources/plugins folder.
    • MSFS: Download and install the FSUIPC WASM Module. Only manually placed sceneries in the Community directory can be read.
  3. Why is my scenery not being read in MSFS? Due to an MSFS limitation, sceneries purchased through the MSFS store are encrypted and cannot be read. Only manually placed sceneries in the Community directory can be accessed.

Flight Planning and Operations

  1. How do I load a flight plan in ACARS? ACARS supports various flight plan formats: FSX/P3D (.pln), X-Plane (.fms), MSFS (.pln), and Simbrief (.xml). Load the appropriate flight plan type to display all waypoints on the route map.

  2. What are the flight phases recognized by ACARS?

    • Boarding: On the ground with parking brake on.
    • Pushback: Aircraft starts moving.
    • Taxi Out: Ground speed > 5.
    • Takeoff: Speed > 30 on the runway or > 80 rolling.
    • Enroute: Above 500' AGL or gear up, >3 miles from the airport.
    • Approach: At or near TOD.
    • Final: Below 3000' AGL, gear and flaps down.
    • Landing: Aircraft is on the ground.
    • Taxi In: Off runway, ground speed < 30.
    • Arrived: Click "End Flight" to set status to arrived and file PIREP.
