About Aurigny Air Services
Aurigny Air Services was founded in 1968 to keep the Channel Islands connected after another operator withdrew, and it has linked Guernsey, Alderney and the mainland ever since. Owned by the States of Guernsey since 2003, it became famous for its fleet of Britten-Norman Trislanders, the distinctive three-engined island hoppers retired in 2017.
From Guernsey, Aurigny flies to UK airports including Gatwick, Southampton and Manchester using ATR 72s and an Embraer 195, while Dornier 228s serve Alderney's short runway. The Guernsey to Alderney sector is one of the shortest scheduled airline routes in Britain, and frequent Channel fog makes island approaches a genuine test for sim pilots.
