About Xiamen Airlines
Xiamen Airlines was founded in 1984 in the coastal city of Xiamen, among the earliest carriers established in China's reform era and often cited as the first run on a modern company model. It grew into a major carrier within the China Southern group and joined SkyTeam in 2012.
Xiamen Airlines was known for decades as an all-Boeing operator, flying 737s and 787s, until it began taking Airbus A321neos in 2023. Its white egret logo reflects a symbol of its home city, and a specially painted 787 promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals has become a well-known livery.
