TAAG Angola Airlines dates to 1938, when it was established as DTA, the air transport division of colonial-era Angola's public services. After Angolan independence in 1975 it became the national flag carrier under the TAAG name, making it one of the oldest airline lineages in Africa.
From its Luanda hub, TAAG flies Boeing 777-300ERs and 777-200ERs on long-haul routes to destinations such as Lisbon and Sao Paulo, with 737s and Dash 8-400s covering domestic and regional Africa flying. Its livery carries the red and black of the Angolan flag with the Palanca Negra antelope emblem.
