About Edelweiss
Edelweiss was founded in 1995 in Zurich, taking its name from the alpine flower that features on its tails. It became the leisure sister of Swiss International Air Lines within the Lufthansa Group in 2008, focusing on holiday destinations from its Swiss home market.
From Zurich, Edelweiss flies Airbus A320-family jets to Mediterranean resorts and long-haul A340-300s to destinations such as the Maldives, Costa Rica and Cape Town, with A350-900s arriving as replacements. Its flower-adorned livery and mix of short Alpine departures and exotic long-haul routes give it a distinctive network personality.
