About Eurowings
Eurowings was formed in 1993 through the merger of German regional carriers NFD and RFG. Lufthansa progressively took control and in 2015 relaunched Eurowings as the group's pan-European low-cost platform, absorbing flying from Germanwings and expanding well beyond its regional roots.
Eurowings operates Airbus A320-family aircraft from bases including Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Palma de Mallorca, its largest base outside Germany. The network focuses on European city and holiday routes, with Mallorca traffic so central to the business that the island functions almost as a home market.
