About Canadian North

Canadian North in its current form was created in 2019 through the merger of two Arctic carriers, First Air and the original Canadian North, both with histories reaching back decades in northern Canada. The airline is wholly Inuit-owned, held by birthright corporations representing the Inuvialuit and the Inuit of Nunavik.

The airline links Ottawa, Edmonton, Yellowknife and Iqaluit with dozens of remote communities across Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. Boeing 737 combis carry passengers and freight together, alongside ATR turboprops, onto short gravel strips above the Arctic Circle, and schedules routinely flex around blizzards, making it a rewarding operation to recreate in the simulator.
