Philippine Airlines was founded in 1941, making it the oldest airline in Asia still operating under its original name. It flew the first trans-Pacific service by an Asian carrier in 1946 using a DC-4, and has since passed through nationalisation, privatisation and a Chapter 11 restructuring completed in 2021.
From hubs at Manila and Cebu, PAL operates A350-900s and 777-300ERs on nonstop flights to North America, including New York and Toronto, with A321s and A330s across Asia. The sun of the Philippine flag colours its tail, and dozens of domestic island airports make its short-haul network ideal for varied simulation.
