About Royal Jordanian
Royal Jordanian was founded in 1963 as Alia, named after King Hussein's eldest daughter, and took its current name in 1986. The Amman-based flag carrier joined oneworld in 2007, the first Arab airline to enter a global alliance, and has kept flying through decades of regional turbulence.
From Queen Alia International Airport, situated on a plateau south of Amman, the airline operates Boeing 787-8s on long-haul routes including New York alongside A320-family jets and new Embraer E2s on regional sectors. Aqaba on the Red Sea adds a scenic domestic hop, and the network spans the Levant, Gulf and Europe.
