Maersk Air Cargo is the airline of the Danish shipping and logistics group Maersk. It was established in 1987 as Star Air, taking over a small Fokker F27 operation, and spent decades flying Boeing 727, 757 and finally 767 freighters under contract to United Parcel Service from Cologne and East Midlands. In 2022 the company was renamed Maersk Air Cargo as Maersk built its own air freight network, and its aircraft still answer to the long-standing WHITESTAR callsign.
The fleet today combines Boeing 767 freighters with new Boeing 777Fs, flying both the UPS contract network and Maersk's own scheduled cargo services from Billund to hubs in Asia and North America. It is one of Scandinavia's largest dedicated cargo operators.
