About Volaris
Volaris was founded in 2005 and began flying in 2006 from Toluca, positioning itself as a Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier. It expanded aggressively after the 2010 collapse of Mexicana, listed on stock exchanges in Mexico and New York, and grew into Mexico's largest airline by passengers carried.
Volaris operates an all-Airbus A320 family fleet with a strong A320neo and A321neo component, flying from bases including Mexico City, Guadalajara and Tijuana. Its cross-border network aimed at visiting friends and relatives traffic links Mexican cities with dozens of US destinations, and its purple-accented livery is distinctive at any gate.
