About Air Nostrum
Air Nostrum was founded in Valencia in 1994 and began flying that December. Since 1997 it has operated as Iberia Regional under a franchise agreement with the Spanish flag carrier, feeding Iberia's Madrid hub and covering thin domestic and cross-border routes. It has carried tens of millions of passengers as one of Europe's larger independent regional airlines.
The fleet is built around Bombardier CRJ1000 regional jets, of which Air Nostrum has been among the largest operators anywhere, together with ATR 72 turboprops. It serves public-service routes including flights to Melilla on the North African coast, plus Balearic inter-island hops, giving sim pilots short sectors into some of Spain's more constrained airports.
