About Aerolineas Argentinas
Aerolineas Argentinas was formed in 1949 by merging four Argentine carriers into a single state airline. It pioneered trans-polar routes to Oceania and long South Atlantic sectors to Europe, was privatized in the 1990s, renationalized in 2008, and joined SkyTeam in 2012 as the alliance's first member from Argentina.
Buenos Aires anchors the network from both Aeroparque, the downtown airport on the River Plate, and Ezeiza for long-haul. Boeing 737s and 737 MAX aircraft cover an extensive domestic map reaching Ushuaia, the world's southernmost significant city, while Airbus A330s fly to Madrid, Rome and Miami. Embraer 190s serve thinner regional routes.
