About Copa Airlines
Copa Airlines was founded in 1947 as Compañía Panameña de Aviación, initially flying domestic routes within Panama. It shifted to an all-international model built on connections, formed a long alliance with Continental Airlines from 1998, and joined Star Alliance in 2012 as Panama's flag carrier.
Copa's entire operation revolves around Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, marketed as the Hub of the Americas, where banks of Boeing 737s connect North America, the Caribbean and South America. The all-737 fleet includes the MAX 9, and the airline regularly ranks among the most punctual carriers in the Americas.
