About Hong Kong Express Airways

Hong Kong Express Airways was founded in 2004 and initially flew as a regional full-service carrier before converting to Hong Kong's first and only low-cost airline in 2013. In 2019 it was acquired by Cathay Pacific, which retained the budget brand as a distinct part of its group.

Operating from Hong Kong International Airport, the airline flies Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo aircraft on short and medium-haul routes to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and mainland China. Japan is a particular network strength, with multiple secondary cities served. Its purple and white jets share ramp space with parent Cathay Pacific at HKG.
