About ZIPAIR Tokyo
ZIPAIR Tokyo was founded in 2018 as Japan Airlines' low-cost medium and long-haul subsidiary. Its passenger launch was disrupted by the pandemic, so it began in 2020 flying cargo-only services with its Boeing 787s before starting passenger operations later that year.
ZIPAIR operates Boeing 787-8s from Tokyo Narita to destinations including Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Singapore and Bangkok. Its minimalist white and green livery replaced an earlier tail design featuring a Z, changed partly because of unwanted associations, a detail livery enthusiasts often note.
