About Wizz Air
Wizz Air was founded in 2003 in Hungary and flew its first service from Katowice in May 2004, timed to the European Union's eastward expansion. It grew into the largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, later adding subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Abu Dhabi and Malta.
Wizz Air operates one of the world's youngest all-Airbus fleets, dominated by high-density A321neos, from bases spread between Western Europe and Central Asia. Its magenta and purple aircraft serve an unusually broad map, from Reykjavik to Samarkand and the Gulf, and its A321XLR orders point to longer routes ahead.
