JetStream Virtual

Rules and Regulations

Have fun, respect each other, and operate your flights as well as you can. Everything below expands on those three things. It is deliberately short: we would rather you spent the time flying.

Version 1.0 · in force from 1 September 2026 · 31 rules across 8 sections · appeals to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com

Respect comes first

Disagreement is fine. Personal attacks and abuse of members or staff are the one thing we act on straight away.

Read section 3 →

Fly what you have

Substituting aircraft is allowed and liveries are entirely your choice. File honest reports and that is all we ask.

Read section 4 →

One flight every three months

That keeps your account active. Quiet accounts go On Leave first, and we always email you before anything is removed.

Read section 5 →
Nothing matches that search.

1The spirit of JetStream Virtual

Three ideas sit behind everything below. If a situation is not covered by a specific rule, these are what we fall back on.

1.1

Fly for the enjoyment of it

JetStream Virtual is a hobby. There is no rank you have to reach, no quota to hit and nothing to win. Fly the routes you like, in the aircraft you like, at your own pace.

1.2

Respect comes first

Every member is here for the same reason you are. Treat other pilots and staff the way you would want to be treated, on the site, on Discord and in every message or report you send. Respect is the rule the rest of this page exists to protect.

1.3

Fly to the best of your ability

We do not expect perfection and we do not score you against anyone else. We do expect an honest attempt at operating each flight properly, and that you learn from the ones that do not go to plan.

2Your account

Who you are on JetStream Virtual, and what we ask of the details you register with.

2.1

Register with a real first name and at least your surname initial

Use your real first name and at least the first letter of your surname, for example "Joost K". That is the name other members see. A full surname is welcome but never required, and you can shorten it at any time from your profile.

2.2

No offensive names or nicknames

Names, callsigns, nicknames, avatars, profile text and email addresses must not be offensive, obscene, hateful, or set up to impersonate another person, a member of staff or a real airline employee. An account with such a name is suspended for seven days while we ask you to change it. If we hear nothing back with a proper name in that time, the account is deleted. JetStream Virtual may suspend an account over a name at its own discretion, and will always say which name was the problem and what needs to change.

2.3

One account per person

Duplicate accounts are removed. If you have lost access to an older account, write to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com and we will recover it rather than you starting again.

2.4

Keep your email address current

Your email address is how we reach you about your account, and it is the only way back in if you lose your password. Keep it up to date in your profile.

3Respect and conduct

This is the section we enforce most firmly. A virtual airline is only worth flying for if the people in it are decent to each other.

3.1

Treat members and staff with respect

Disagreement is fine and welcome. Personal attacks, insults, belittling other people for how they fly, and abuse of staff who are volunteering their time are not.

3.2

No harassment, discrimination or hate

No content or behaviour that harasses, demeans or discriminates against anyone, on any basis whatsoever. That includes remarks aimed at a member who has already asked you to stop.

3.3

No spam or advertising

Do not use JetStream Virtual to advertise other services, recruit for other groups, or send members unsolicited messages. Spam and advertising are suspended immediately, and staff decide how long the suspension runs based on what was sent and to how many people.

3.4

Report problems instead of escalating them

If another member is behaving badly, write to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com rather than answering in kind. Tell us what happened and where. We would rather hear about it early than clean up afterwards.

4Flying

How we expect flights to be operated and reported. Deliberately short: the point is to fly, not to read.

4.1

Aircraft substitution is allowed

If you do not own the exact type on a schedule, fly the closest aircraft you have. Substituting an aircraft is explicitly permitted and never counts against you.

4.2

Liveries are entirely your choice

Fly any livery you like, including the one your simulator came with. We do not require a matching or downloaded livery for any flight.

4.3

File honest flight reports

A flight report should describe a flight you actually flew. Do not file reports for flights that did not happen, and do not manipulate the flight logger or its data to produce a better result. An occasional bad landing costs you nothing here. A falsified report does.

4.4

Report problems with the tools

If the logger, dispatch or a schedule misbehaves, tell us through the feedback button or occ@jetstreamvirtual.com. Software going wrong is never held against you, and reports are how it gets fixed.

5Staying active

We keep the pilot roster meaningful by clearing accounts that have gone quiet. Nothing here happens without an email first.

If you have never logged a flight
Day 0
You register
3 months
Account moves to On Leave, we email you
6 months
Account is deleted. You can register again whenever you like
One logged flight at any point stops this entirely.
If you have flown with us
Day 0
Your last logged flight
3 months
Account moves to On Leave, we email you. Nothing is lost
15 months
Account is deactivated and hidden. We can still restore it
5 years
All personal data is erased permanently
Your hours, reports, awards and rank stay exactly as they are.
5.1

Log at least one flight every three months

One flight every three months is all it takes to stay active. There is no minimum number of hours and no requirement to fly a particular route, airline or aircraft.

5.2

Three months without a flight moves you to On Leave

If nothing is logged for three months your account moves to On Leave and you get an email telling you so. Nothing is lost: your hours, flight reports, awards and rank stay exactly as they are, and logging a single flight makes you active again immediately.

5.3

Accounts that never flew are removed after six months

An account that has never logged a single flight is deleted three months after going On Leave, six months after registration. There is no flight history to keep, and you are welcome to register again later.

5.4

Accounts with flights are kept for another twelve months

If you have flown with us, your account stays On Leave for a further twelve months. After that it is deactivated and removed from the site. Write to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com and we will restore it with your history intact.

5.5

Personal data is erased five years after deactivation

Five years after an account is deactivated, all personal data attached to it is erased permanently and cannot be restored. What remains is anonymous flight statistics that can no longer be traced back to a person.

5.6

Leaving, and coming back

You can ask us to delete your account at any moment, and you can ask for it back after it has gone On Leave. Both go to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com.

6.1

We start with a conversation

For most issues the first step is an email explaining what needs to change. Suspensions are for behaviour that continues after that, or that is serious enough on its own.

6.2

A suspension always says why

Every suspension email names the rule concerned, quotes it in full, states how long the suspension lasts and tells you how to appeal. While suspended you are signed out and can only reach public pages.

6.3

We may act when the facts are unclear

JetStream Virtual reserves the right to suspend or remove an account when it cannot establish exactly what happened. Where a member is being harmed or the atmosphere is at stake we act first and discuss afterwards. Any such decision can be appealed, and we do reverse them.

6.4

Repeat behaviour escalates

Suspensions build on each other. A matter settled once and repeated is treated as the next step in the table above, not as a first occurrence.

7Appeals

Every decision on this page can be appealed, including the ones taken automatically.

7.1

Write to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com

That address reaches the people who make these decisions. Include your pilot ID and, if you have it, the date of the email you received. Tell us what you think we got wrong. You do not need to be formal about it.

7.2

What happens next

We read every appeal, look at what actually happened and reply with a decision and the reasoning behind it. If we were wrong, we say so and reverse it.

8Your data and privacy

JetStream Virtual is operated from the European Union and complies with the GDPR.

8.1

What we hold

Your name as you registered it, your email address, your country, home airport and time zone if you gave them, your pilot ID and callsign, and the IP address of your last login. If you connect them, your Discord, VATSIM and IVAO identifiers. Any avatar or profile banner you upload, and the API key your flight logger uses. Everything you generate by flying: flight reports, hours, awards, bookings and logger diagnostics. Our staff also keep management notes on your account recording administrative actions such as suspensions, name changes and activity decisions.

8.2

Why we hold it

To run your account, to show the pilot roster and statistics, to contact you about your account, and to fix problems with the flight logger. We do not sell personal data and we do not pass it to third parties for their own purposes.

8.3

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active, and then according to the ladder in section 5. Five years after deactivation everything personal is erased permanently.

8.4

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, or object to how we use it. Write to occ@jetstreamvirtual.com and we will answer within thirty days. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Disagree with a decision?

Every decision on this page can be appealed, including the automatic ones. Write to us with your pilot ID and what you think we got wrong. We read all of it, and we do reverse decisions when we get them wrong.
