Lucky Air: History and Facts
Lucky Air was founded in 2004 and began operations in 2006, based in Kunming in China's mountainous Yunnan province. Part of the HNA Group family of carriers, it grew from a small regional operator into a sizeable domestic airline, at times experimenting with low-cost and long-haul flying.
From its hub at Kunming Changshui, one of China's busiest gateways, Lucky Air operates Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 aircraft on an extensive domestic network, with particular depth inside Yunnan itself. High-elevation airports and terrain around destinations such as Lijiang and Shangri-La make its home region interesting flying country for simulator pilots.
