About Aircalin
Aircalin, formally Air Caledonie International, was founded in 1983 to carry New Caledonia's international traffic, a role its domestic namesake does not fill. It is owned largely by the territory and its provinces, and operates from La Tontouta, the international airport an hour north of Noumea.
The fleet is small and modern: Airbus A330-900neo widebodies for the long sectors and A320neo narrowbodies for the regional ones. The network reaches Tokyo, Osaka, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Papeete, Port Vila and Nadi, and connects a French territory in the South Pacific to both Asia and Australasia.
