About Bluebird Airways
Bluebird Airways was founded in 2008 at Heraklion on Crete and holds a Greek air operator certificate. Most of its work is charter and wet lease rather than its own schedule: holiday traffic into the Greek islands through the summer, capacity leased to other carriers, and a small number of scheduled services of its own.
Four Boeing 737-800s make up the fleet. Around 22 destinations are served from the Heraklion base, with Ben Gurion as the main focus city, since Israeli leisure traffic to Crete and Rhodes is the core of the business. Amsterdam and other western European airports are served alongside it.
