About Binter Canarias
Binter Canarias was founded in 1988 as an Iberia subsidiary to take over inter-island flying within the Canary Islands, beginning operations in 1989. It was sold into private Canarian ownership in the early 2000s and has since grown from a pure island shuttle into a regional airline reaching Africa and mainland Europe.
The core operation is a high-frequency shuttle between the islands, with hops such as Tenerife North to Gran Canaria lasting around half an hour on ATR 72-600s. Embraer E195-E2 jets extend the map to mainland Spain, Madeira, the Azores and West African cities. For simulator pilots the short sectors, terrain and trade-wind weather make demanding approaches.
