Aer Lingus: History and Facts
Aer Lingus was founded in 1936 as Ireland's national airline, flying its first service that May from Dublin to Bristol with a De Havilland DH.84 Dragon named Iolar. Long state-owned, it joined International Airlines Group in 2015 alongside British Airways and Iberia.
