Air Serbia traces its lineage to Aeroput, founded in 1927, and to Yugoslav flag carrier JAT. The airline took its current name in 2013 when Jat Airways was relaunched with investment from Etihad Airways. It has since grown into the largest carrier in the former Yugoslavia, restoring long-severed links across the region.
Belgrade Nikola Tesla is the hub, with a secondary base at Niš. Airbus A319s and A320s, ATR 72s and Embraer jets cover a dense Balkan and European network, while a single A330 flies to New York, Chicago and, at times, China, reviving transatlantic routes once flown by JAT. The livery features the Serbian double-headed eagle.
