About JetSMART Argentina
JetSMART Argentina was set up in 2016 as Alas del Sur and took delivery of its first Airbus A320 in December 2018. Scheduled flying began on 10 April 2019 from Buenos Aires El Palomar, opening with the route to Mendoza. In December 2019 the company bought Norwegian Air Argentina and absorbed its operation.
El Palomar later closed to airline traffic, so the domestic network now runs from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in central Buenos Aires. The airline flies the Airbus A320 family to Bariloche, Cordoba, Mendoza, Neuquen, Salta, Tucuman, Ushuaia and other domestic points, with international services to Asuncion, Santiago and three cities in Brazil.
