About Nouvelair

Nouvelair was founded in 1989 as Air Liberte Tunisie, an affiliate of the French carrier Air Liberte, and flew its first service on 21 March 1990. It took the Nouvelair name after the French parent withdrew, and was led by the Tunisian businessman Aziz Miled until his death in 2012. It remains privately held.

Monastir Habib Bourguiba is the headquarters, with further bases at Tunis Carthage and Djerba Zarzis. The fleet is entirely Airbus A320 family, fourteen A320-200s and three A320neos. Most of the flying is holiday traffic between the Tunisian coast and France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and central Europe, alongside a scheduled programme.
