About Utair
Utair traces its line to the Aeroflot Tyumen directorate formed in 1967 to support the oil and gas fields of western Siberia. It became Tyumenaviatrans in 1991 and took the Utair name in 2002. Alongside the airline it runs one of the largest helicopter operations in the world, much of it on contract work.
Moscow Vnukovo and Surgut are the main bases and the head office is at Khanty-Mansiysk. The fixed wing fleet is around 60 aircraft: Boeing 737-400, -500 and -800s, three Boeing 767-200ERs and 15 ATR 72-500s. The network covers about 53 airports, many of them small fields in Siberia and the far north.
