JetSMART and LATAM Airlines Peru Join the Network

Two South American carriers have been added to the network at the request of a member: JetSMART and LATAM Airlines Peru. Between them they add 608 scheduled flights and 43 aircraft, most of it flying that was not reachable before.

JetSMART operates under ICAO code JAT and the callsign ROCKSMART. It is the Chilean certificate of the ultra low cost group founded by Indigo Partners, flying an all Airbus A320 family fleet in a single cabin. 217 routes have been imported across 20 airports, running the length of Chile from Arica and Calama down to Puerto Montt, with regional services to Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Montevideo, Lima, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Cali and Medellin. The fleet stands at 29 aircraft: 16 A320neo, nine A321neo and four A320ceo.

LATAM Airlines Peru operates under ICAO code LPE and the callsign LANPERU. It started as Lan Peru in 1999 and took the LATAM name in 2016. 391 routes have been imported across 54 airports, hubbed on Lima Jorge Chavez, covering the Peruvian domestic network to Cusco, Arequipa, Iquitos, Piura, Trujillo and Tarapoto alongside international flying to Madrid, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, Mexico City, Cancun, Bogota, Santiago, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. The fleet is 14 aircraft: eight A320, four A319 and two Boeing 767-300ER.

Fourteen airframes have moved from LATAM Airlines Chile to the Peruvian certificate, which is where the live fleet data places them. That is a correction to existing records rather than a loss of aircraft.
