About BA Cityflyer

BA Cityflyer was established in 2007 as a wholly owned British Airways subsidiary to take over the mainline's operation at London City Airport. It built the airport into a business-focused hub with short-haul flights to UK and European cities, later adding leisure routes and seasonal flying from other British airports.

The airline flies Embraer E190s adapted for London City's short runway and steep 5.5 degree approach, one of the more demanding arrivals in European airline flying. Its network mixes banker shuttles to cities such as Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Zurich with sunshine routes to destinations including Ibiza, Palma and Malaga.
