About Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways was founded in 2003 by royal decree as the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi. It expanded rapidly through the 2000s and 2010s, including a strategy of equity stakes in foreign airlines, before restructuring into a more focused mid-sized carrier.
