Creating Your Account & Profile Setup

Registration

To join JetStream Virtual, navigate to the registration page and complete the sign-up form. You will need to provide:

  • Name — Your real first and last name (or a callsign-style name if you prefer)
  • Email address — Used for login, notifications and password recovery
  • Home airport (hub) — Your primary base of operations; this determines which flights appear at the top of your list and where your career begins
  • Country & timezone — Used for displaying times in your local zone
  • Password — Minimum 8 characters; we recommend using a password manager

After submitting the form, you may receive an email verification link depending on the airline’s configuration. Click it to activate your account.

Choosing Your Home Hub

Your home hub is the airport you’ll fly from most often. At JetStream Virtual, our main hubs include major international airports. When selecting a hub, consider:

  • Route availability — Most routes originate from hubs, so pick one with destinations you want to fly
  • Aircraft types — Different hubs may have different subfleets based there
  • Your real-world location — Many pilots enjoy flying from an airport near their home

You can change your hub later from your profile settings, though some airlines restrict hub transfers.

Profile Settings

Once logged in, visit your Profile page to configure:

Avatar
Upload a profile picture or use the default Gravatar linked to your email.
Airline
If the VA operates multiple airlines, select which one you fly for.
Display Units
Configure how distances (nautical miles / kilometres), altitude (feet / metres), fuel (kg / lbs / gallons), and weights are displayed throughout the system.
Timezone
All times in the system can be displayed in your local timezone. Note that all operational times (STD, STA, etc.) are always in UTC on official documents like the OFP.

Your API Key

In your profile you’ll find an API key. This is a unique identifier used to connect external applications like vmsACARS to your account. Keep this key private — anyone with your API key can file flights on your behalf.

If you suspect your key has been compromised, use the Regenerate API Key button to create a new one. Your old key will immediately stop working.

Pilot ID

After registration you’ll be assigned a pilot ID (e.g., JSV0042). This is your permanent identifier within JetStream Virtual. It appears on all your PIREPs, in the pilot roster, and is used when communicating with ATC if you choose to fly on networks like VATSIM or IVAO.

Account Activity & Retention Policy

JetStream Virtual has an automatic activity management system to keep the pilot roster accurate:

SituationWhat HappensTimeframe
Registered but never flewAccount is automatically deletedAfter 30 days
Has flights but stopped flyingStatus changed to On LeaveAfter 120 days of inactivity
On Leave pilot flies againStatus automatically restored to ActiveImmediately upon filing a PIREP

Important: If you register an account, make sure to complete at least one flight within 30 days to keep your account active. After that, you can fly at your own pace — your account will be set to On Leave after 120 days of inactivity, but it will never be deleted as long as you have at least one flight on record. You can always return and your status will be restored automatically.
