Linking Your SimBrief Account

How to create a SimBrief account and link it to JetStream Virtual for OFP generation.

Linking Your SimBrief Account

SimBrief Integration

JetStream Virtual uses SimBrief to generate professional-grade Operational Flight Plans. SimBrief is a free, real-world-quality flight planning tool used by thousands of virtual and real-world pilots.

Step 1: Create a SimBrief Account

  1. Visit simbrief.com
  2. Click Register and create a free account
  3. Verify your email address
  4. Log in to SimBrief

Step 2: Find Your SimBrief Pilot ID

  1. After logging in to SimBrief, go to your Account Settings
  2. Look for your Pilot ID (a 6-digit number, e.g., 123456)
  3. Copy this number — you’ll need it in the next step

Step 3: Link to JetStream Virtual

  1. Log in to your JetStream Virtual account
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Find the SimBrief Pilot ID field
  4. Paste your 6-digit Pilot ID and save

Once linked, the system can generate OFPs directly from the flight dispatch page without requiring you to log in to SimBrief separately.

How It Works

When you click Generate OFP on a dispatched flight:

  1. JetStream Virtual sends the flight details (route, aircraft, passengers, cargo, fuel estimates) to SimBrief
  2. SimBrief calculates the optimal route, fuel requirements, and performance data using real-world weather and NOTAMs
  3. The completed OFP is returned and displayed on your briefing page
  4. The fuel and weight figures feed into your load sheet, crew roster, and ground handling timeline

SimBrief Airframe Configuration

SimBrief uses aircraft performance profiles called “airframes” to calculate fuel burn, speeds, and climb/descent profiles. JetStream Virtual automatically selects the correct airframe based on the aircraft type assigned to your flight. Common airframes include:

AircraftSimBrief AirframeTypical Range
Boeing 737-800B738~2,900 NM
Boeing 777-300ERB77W~7,370 NM
Boeing 787-9B789~7,530 NM
Airbus A320neoA20N~3,400 NM
Airbus A330-300A333~5,650 NM
Airbus A350-900A359~8,100 NM

Troubleshooting

  • “SimBrief ID not found” — Double-check that you entered your numeric Pilot ID, not your username
  • OFP generation fails — SimBrief may be experiencing high load; wait a minute and try again
  • Wrong aircraft type in OFP — Ensure the aircraft you selected for the flight has a matching SimBrief airframe configured in the admin panel
