| FL | Flight Level — altitude in hundreds of feet (FL350 = 35,000ft) |
| GPU | Ground Power Unit — provides electrical power while engines are off |
| GS | Ground Speed — speed relative to the ground (in knots) |
| ICAO | International Civil Aviation Organization — also refers to 4-letter airport codes |
| INF | Infant passenger (under 2 years) |
| METAR | Meteorological Aerodrome Report — current weather observation |
| MLW | Maximum Landing Weight |
| MTOW | Maximum Takeoff Weight |
| MZFW | Maximum Zero Fuel Weight |
| OCC | Operations Control Center — monitors and manages all flight operations |
| OEW | Operating Empty Weight — aircraft weight without payload or fuel |
| OFP | Operational Flight Plan — the master flight planning document |
| PIREP | Pilot Report — record of a completed flight |
| PNL | Passenger Name List — the passenger manifest |

| SSR | Special Service Request — codes for special passenger needs |
