PIREPs (Pilot Reports)

What is a PIREP?

A PIREP (Pilot Report) is the official record of a completed flight. It is automatically generated by vmsACARS when you fly and contains all the data about your flight.

PIREP Contents

  • Route — Departure and arrival airports, route flown
  • Times — Block off/on, takeoff/landing, total flight time
  • Fuel — Block fuel loaded, fuel used, fuel remaining
  • Flight path — GPS track of your entire flight
  • Events log — All ACARS events (engine starts, light changes, speed violations, etc.)
  • Landing rate — Your touchdown vertical speed in feet per minute

PIREP States

In ProgressFlight is currently active — you are flying
PendingFlight completed, awaiting review
AcceptedFlight approved — hours and pay credited
RejectedFlight rejected by administration
