Notifications & Company NOTAMs

How the notification center and company NOTAMs work, including read & sign requirements

Notifications & Company NOTAMs

The Notification Center

JetStream Virtual has a built-in Notification Center accessible from the bell icon () in the top navigation bar. This is your central hub for all important communications from the airline.

How It Works

  • A yellow badge appears on the bell icon showing the number of unread notifications
  • Click the bell to open the notification dropdown — you'll see your most recent notifications
  • Click any notification to mark it as read
  • Use the "Mark all read" button to clear all notifications at once

The system polls for new notifications every 30 seconds, so you'll see them appear without refreshing the page.

Company NOTAMs

A NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) is an official notice published by the airline management containing important information. At JetStream Virtual, Company NOTAMs serve as the official communication channel for policy changes, procedure updates, and important announcements.

Types of Company NOTAMs

1. Informational NOTAMs

These are standard announcements — new routes, schedule changes, event notifications, etc. They appear in your notification center and on the Company NOTAMs page. No action is required other than reading them.

2. Read & Sign NOTAMs

These are important notices that require your acknowledgement. There are two levels:

  • Optional Read & Sign — The airline recommends you read and acknowledge the notice, but it's not required. You can still book flights without signing.
  • Mandatory Read & Sign — You must acknowledge this notice before you can book any new flights. The system will block flight booking until all mandatory NOTAMs are signed.

Mandatory NOTAM Pop-up

When you log in and there are pending mandatory NOTAMs, a full-screen pop-up will appear. You must read the notice and click the "I have read and understood" button to proceed. This ensures all pilots are aware of critical operational changes.

You cannot dismiss this pop-up without signing — it will reappear on every page load until acknowledged.

Viewing All NOTAMs

You can find a complete list of all Company NOTAMs by navigating to Resources → Company NOTAMs in the top menu bar. This page shows:

  • All active NOTAMs with their type (Informational / Read & Sign)
  • Whether you've acknowledged each NOTAM
  • The date it was published
  • The NOTAM content in full

How NOTAMs Affect Flight Booking

If a mandatory Read & Sign NOTAM is pending:

  1. Attempting to book a flight will show an error message
  2. The error will direct you to the Company NOTAMs page
  3. After acknowledging all mandatory NOTAMs, you can proceed to book flights normally

Who Publishes NOTAMs?

Only airline administrators can create and publish Company NOTAMs. When a new NOTAM is published, all active pilots automatically receive a notification in their notification center.

NOTAM Applicability

NOTAMs can be configured to apply to:

  • All users — including new users who register after the NOTAM was published
  • Current users only — only pilots who were registered at the time of publication
