Using the Live Map

How to use the real-time flight tracking map to watch flights in progress.

Using the Live Map

The Live Map

The Live Map is a real-time display of all currently active JetStream Virtual flights. It’s visible to everyone — including visitors who are not logged in — and provides an at-a-glance view of our airline’s operations.

Map Features

  • Aircraft icons — Each active flight is shown as an aircraft icon on the map, oriented in the direction of travel
  • Route lines — Great circle routes are drawn between departure and destination airports
  • Flight trail — The actual path flown so far is shown as a coloured line behind the aircraft
  • Airport markers — Departure and arrival airports are marked with pins

Flight Information Panel

Click on any aircraft icon to open the flight information panel. This shows:

Viewing a Flight’s Briefing

If a flight has a SimBrief dispatch, you’ll see a View Briefing button (paper/document icon) in the flight information panel. Clicking this opens the full dispatch package including the OFP, load sheet, PNL, crew roster, and OCC timeline. This lets you follow along with a pilot’s flight as if you were in operations control.

Flights Table

Below the map, a table lists all active flights with sortable columns. Each row includes a briefing icon if available — click it to jump directly to that flight’s dispatch page.

Map Controls

  • Zoom — Use the scroll wheel or +/- buttons to zoom in and out
  • Pan — Click and drag to move around the map
  • Fullscreen — Click the fullscreen button for an immersive view
  • Auto-refresh — The map updates automatically every 10 seconds with new position data
