Selecting & Starting a Flight

Browse your bookings, choose an aircraft, and begin tracking.

Selecting & Starting a Flight

After logging in, you’ll see the Flight Selection screen showing your booked flights.

My Bookings

The app displays flights you have booked on the JetStream Virtual website. Flight dispatching happens on the website — the app is dedicated to flight tracking.

Each booking shows:

  • Flight number and airline code
  • Departure and arrival airport ICAO codes
  • Distance (NM) and estimated flight time
  • Aircraft type from the assigned subfleet
  • Route string (if available)
No flights showing? Visit jetstreamvirtual.com to browse the schedule and book a flight first. The app only displays flights you have already booked.

Starting a Flight

  1. Select a booking by clicking on it — it highlights with an accent border.
  2. Choose your aircraft from the dropdown if the subfleet has multiple aircraft available.
  3. Wait for simulator detection — the status indicator in the top right shows:
    • 🔴 No sim — Start your flight simulator first.
    • 🟢 MSFS Connected or X-Plane Connected — Ready to fly.
  4. Click Start Flight — this prefiles your PIREP on the server and begins tracking.
Important: Start the flight in the Logger before releasing the parking brake in the simulator. The app needs to capture your departure snapshot (gate, fuel, weight, weather) from the gate.

Loading from the Website

You can launch flights directly from the website:

  1. Book a flight and generate a SimBrief briefing as usual.
  2. On the briefing page, click the blue Load in Flight Logger button.
  3. The app opens and pre-selects the flight.
  4. Confirm aircraft and click Start Flight.

Your browser may ask permission to open the jsvlogger:// protocol the first time — click Allow.

Removing a Booking

To remove a booking, click the Remove link on the flight card. This releases the bid on the server and removes it from your list.
